How do you create a cohesive security strategy from all of the point solutions that SaaS vendors offer?

Using point solutions means you need to be very deliberate about what and how you implement solutions and ensure you align to an overarching tech philosophy / principles. There are some benefits to rolling everything up rather than having specific point solutions, but we’re not going to sacrifice efficacy for ease of management or for the sake of consolidation. Using large platforms / integrated suites won’t automatically make your strategy cohesive either. We also try our best to limit the tooling in the first place. Sometimes this also means we develop solutions with software developers in our own security team. We are not getting every tool out there to try and solve every single problem or edge case. We start by focusing on our company’s crown jewels, implement crown jewel policies, controls, and then span out from there.
