What would a CTO compensation/equity be for a small startup?

That depends upon several factors. What level of funding does the small startup have and what can they afford? What matters to the CTO more, cash or equity, those are the 2 "levers". There is no rule of thumb here and any numbers that I post will easily be refuted by others. Need more context/details to answer this properly.

I can tell you the equity I am entitled to @ Taimingo. The vesting that I have in is 1% for each year it passes for a maximum of 5%. So far I’ve 2%.
