Is continuous intelligence always useful in production?

Continuous insights and predictions are useful when the marginal cost of being right is high, the value is high and the marginal cost of being wrong is low. So if there's some decent probability that you're going to be wrong, you stay away. And I have two supporting stories there, one is, we are doing this thing which is predicting for our production line, and we're pretty good at this, but we're always going to make mistakes, and the learning was, that if you call the line manager back from lunch and in fact the machine is not about to break, he gets really pissed off. So the success of your product gets thrown into question. The other one is, if somebody's life is at stake that's a bad use of this predictive cell, because the cost is enormously high and you know you are going to make mistakes, so just stay away. Do things where it makes sense. For example in Vegas, if I make an Uber across the city, on average a lot faster, but every once in a while you have to stop at a red light, who cares? It's good.
