As the CIO position transitions from technical to business focused, what have you learned about being a business leader?

Most CIOs have an IT degree, tend to be very technical and it's very hard to leave that and be more focused into business. What I have learned in the years that I've been doing a lot of jobs for different companies is that it's not about technology, it's about people. It's about supporting what the companies do to make money. That's the bottom line.
