I'm an enthusiast about different methods of learning and I'm supportive of all of them if they meet a learner's needs. But one thing that I noticed is, as much as I would consider myself supportive of online learning, when we reached a point to where we were sending people home with devices, we recognized what an impediment connecting to our network had provided for individuals. Because there's that gruesome fight that always happens in higher-ed about who has the admin rights. It has really bit us in this instance because the minute these devices go off campus and we can't connect to them, they can't make the changes they need on the fly to be able to connect without the admin password. It has been a problem. Our CISO is working on this roadmap and the changes that we need to make sure that we're fully embracing, not necessarily management of, but awareness of and protection for our community that's now entirely with remote devices that we've never seen before.
