Do you think the majority of enterprise companies will move to the cloud in the next 5 years?

There are issues with the wording of the answer choices for this question. The mainframe was digital before there was a cloud. Moving some workloads to the cloud, and retaining some workloads on the mainframe are valid strategies that are not mutually exclusive.

It's an interesting question and  is correct that it's not very well written in second response. Businesses that run mainframes do so for a good reason, those things just run and run very well without any issues. It's far cheaper to run those systems in on-premise infrastructure than moving them to public cloud of sorts. Security is another anchor that I think will keep those things on premise for a long time because it's simply easier to secure those systems on premise vs. dealing with cloud configuration/security challenges.

The answer is yes but not for the stated reason. We had been moving to the cloud for years but reasons were more around.... Retirement of technical debt Reduce Data center footprint Shift to pay as you use for more applications Etc etc....
